However the film later went on to bag 230 million rupees at the box office as well as added a large fanbase to the star.

This movie is said to be based on the real life love triangle of the main actors, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha. The movie was shot at exquisite locations, making it visually appealing. The movie initially failed at the box office due to lack of proper promotion.
